Massive dust storm delays the rescue of two hikers

Palm Springs Police confirm that two hikers are still stuck on the Lykken Trail after a massive dust storm hit the valley and cancelled a rescue that was in progress.

Palm Springs Police got a call just before 4:00 p.m that two hikers were tired and dehydrated and needed aid getting down the popular Palm Springs trail.

During the rescue, a helicopter was called in, but was unable to rescue the pair when the wind storm hit the Valley.

Currently, Palm Springs Fire Department and members of the Palm Springs Search and Rescue Unit are with the hikers, and tribal rangers are heading up the trail to bring the group food and water.

No word if an airlift will happen tonight, or tomorrow.
