Jule’s Market to open in La Quinta Cove Friday

The wait for a nearby grocery store is just about over for people in the La Quinta Cove. They’ve been without a store since Ralph’s and Fresh & Easy closed last year.

Now Juel’s Market is set out to be your neighborhood gem. It will host its grand opening Friday at 10 a.m. The store is located at 78130 Calle Tampico, across from Old Town La Quinta where the Fresh & Easy used to be.

The neighborhood market began employee training and stocking shelves Monday, focused on filling the need after the cove lost both of its grocery stores.

“We are locally owned and operated. Our vision is to take care of what this community needs,” said CEO Jeremy Cullifer.

“I think everyone’s anticipating, they can’t wait,” said La Quinta Cove resident Doriel Wyler.

The business is also reeling in local produce and products. It’s also displaying the work of local artists while creating nearly 50 jobs.

“We have a staff of 47 here including myself. Mostly residents of La Quinta, a couple of people from Indio and two from Palm Desert,” said Cullifer.

Store hours will be 6 a.m. to 11 p.m. seven days a week.
