Multiple dead in crash involving U. of Southwest golf teams

ANDREWS, Texas (AP) — Officials say a vehicle carrying members of the University of the Southwest’s golf teams collided head-on with a pickup truck on a two-lane road in West Texas, killing multiple people including some students and the teams’ coach. The crash happened Tuesday night as the players were traveling home from a tournament in Midland, Texas. The Texas Department of Public Safety says there were fatalities in both vehicles, but the number of dead wasn’t immediately released. The school says a bus had nine people on board, including the coach. The school says preliminary reports indicated seven people on board the bus were killed and two passengers were taken to a hospital in critical condition.
