Summer storm brings rain and hail to Banning Pass

Storm clouds moved into the Coachella Valley late Tuesday afternoon. The National Weather Service issued a Flash Flood Watch that is in effect until Thursday.

The California Highway Patrol said there were reports of rain and hail in the Banning Pass area around 5:00 p.m.

There have also been several reports of small fires, and several lightning strikes in the mountains surrounding the valley.
