Suspect shot after pulling shotgun on deputies

A suspect is in custody accused of pulling out a shotgun and pointing it at sheriff deputies responding to a call in Thermal.

Riverside County Sheriff deputies got reports around 2:00 a.m. Saturday morning of shots being fired during a domestic dispute at Avenue 70 and Polk street.

When deputies walked up to a house on the 69-400 block of Fillmore Street a resident walked out holding a shotgun.

He then pointed the weapon at the officers, that’s when an officer involved shooting occurred.

Deputies called paramedics to the scene.

The man was transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

He has not be identified.

No deputies were hurt during the incident.
