Parolee at large hides from deputies, arrested in Joshua Tree

A parolee at large is back behind bars after he attempted to hide from San Bernardino County Sheriff’s deputies in Joshua Tree.

Police were dispatched to the home of 44-year-old Shawn Anderson on the 3100 block of Inez Avenue Saturday. Anderson had an active felony parole violation warrant for his arrest.

When police arrived to his home, they spotted a man who ran into a detached garage of the home.

Deputies asked Anderson to surrender himself, but instead he locked himself in the garage.

The Special Enforcement Division served a search warrant and discovered Anderson hiding behind storage boxes on the second story loft of the garage.

He was taken into custody and booked at the Morongo Basin Jail for an outstanding warrant and resisting arrest.
