Pedestrian hit by motorized bike in Desert Hot Springs

A man driving a motorized bicycle struck a pedestrian in Desert Hot Springs tonight, sending both men to the hospital.

It happened just before 7 p.m. tonight on Dillon Road and Desert Crest Avenue near the entrance to Desert Crest Country Club.

California Highway Patrol says the driver of the motorized bike, a 69-year old man from Desert Hot Springs collided with a 68-year old man from Indio.

Both were taken to Desert Regional Medical Center with major injuries. The westbound lanes of Dillon Road were shut down as police investigated. All lanes are back open tonight.
