Police investigate drive-by shooting in Desert Hot Springs

Desert Hot Springs police are investigating an apparent drive-by shooting late Thursday night that left one man hospitalized.

The injured man’s name had not been released Friday morning. Officers said he was shot in the chest at approximately 11:32 p.m., along the 66200 block of Cahuilla Drive.

A neighbor called 911 and said a sedan drove past her her home and shot her neighbor’s son.

The victim was said to be in stable condition at Desert Regional Medical Center. Police provided no word on any suspects, arrests or a motive for the crime.

The investigation is ongoing an no further information is expected to be released at this time. If anyone has information about the shooting, they’re asked to call the Desert Hot Springs Police Department at 760-329-2904.
