Discount grocery chain hiring for local distribution center

A discount grocery chain with stores around the country is hiring for 100 positions at their Moreno Valley distribution center.

ALDI originated in Germany and is a cousin to Trader Joe’s.

The store says they’ll eventually open three Coachella valley locations: on Ramon Road in Palm Springs, and on Highway 111 in La Quinta and Palm Desert.

The first of potentially more job fairs for the Moreno Valley Distribution Center will be held this Friday, Nov. 13, Saturday, Nov. 14 and Sunday, Nov. 15.

The company says ALDI is hoping to hire for 100 “Selector and Receiver” positions at the events this weekend at the ALDI Distribution Center, at 12661 ALDI Place, Moreno Valley, Calif. 92555 (the intersection of Eucalyptus Ave. and Redlands Blvd.)

“ALDI offers employees generous compensation that is well above the industry standard with Selectors and Receivers earning $19 per hour and up to $26 per hour after 18 months. The Moreno Valley Distribution Center will service the 45 ALDI stores in the Southern California region slated to open by the end of 2016,” said Jenny Savage, on behalf of ALDI.

During the three day employment event “Prospective candidates may visit the regional headquarters and distribution center to receive an application for employment and an appointment time to return for an initial interview. Following the initial interviews, select candidates will be invited to continue with the formal screening process, which includes up to two additional interviews, a drug screening, background check and reference check. ALDI will present job offers to chosen candidates by January 9, 2016.”

Roughly 25 stores are set to open before July 2016.
