Man arrested for making false bomb threat at Loma Linda Univesity Medical Center

Deputies said a 19-year-old man from Phelan was the reason why Loma Linda University Medical Center had to be searched for a potential bomb on Tuesday. Now the man is behind bars, accused of calling in two additional false bomb threats the same day.

John Albert William Davis was booked into the Central Detention Center for making false bomb threats.

The first threat Davis is accused of making happened just before 10 a.m. when he told Loma Linda officials he was, “Making a bomb and the hospital better be ready,” according to the release.

A few minutes later, he’s accused of calling Grand Terrace High School to say there was a bomb on the campus. Deputies said both calls came from the same number.

Detectives later found out a third false bomb threat was made at an apartment complex in San Bernardino. They said the caller’s identification showed the same number as the two previous threats with the name, John Davis.

The investigation revealed there were no credible threats at any of the locations and deputies started to zero-in on the suspect’s whereabouts.

They found his address in Phelan after investigating where the calls originated from. Deputies said Davis was in possession of the phone that was used to call in the phony bomb threats and they found additional evidence identifying him as the suspect.

He’s being held in lieu of $25,000 bail on charges of making false bomb threats.
