Remembering Coachella Valley icon Crissy Romero

We’re remembering Coachella Valley icon, Crissy Romero. She passed away Saturday morning while recovering at Manor Care after suffering from a fall, according to a friend.

She was an ambassador for the Coachella Chamber of Commerce, Boy Scouts of America and the Coachella Library.

KESQ & CBS Local 2 had the pleasure of seeing her at the many events we’ve covered in the east valley.

Romero was famous for her community spirit, bright smile and wearing her extravagant, colorful hats and hairpieces.

She is survived by her sister, sister-in-law and many nephews and nieces.

Crissy Romero was a true joy, a Coachella Valley angel. She will never be forgotten.
