Power restored to nearly 7,000 SCE customers in Palm Desert

Power is back on for nearly 7,000 Southern California Edison customers in Palm Desert. The power outage started just after 9 p.m. Sunday.

We had multiple people calling into our newsroom saying Highway 111 and El Paseo were completely black from Cook Street to Monterey.

Power started coming back on around 10 p.m.

Southern California Edison told us crews are still investigating the cause of the outage.
