Slew of new stores and restaurants to open in Palm Desert

“We’re all very excited for all the new faces we’re bringing to the desert,” says Sharon Carmichael, Senior Vice President for Cushman & Wakefield.

Carmichael has been working for over a year to sign stores like Saks Off Fifth to the prime real estate project El Paseo Square, and says the deals just finalized.

Saks Off Fifth will anchor the newly expanded retail space between El Paseo, Highway 111, San Pablo and Lupine.

Carmichael adds Jamba Juice, Blaze Pizza, The Habit Burger Grill and elite gym Orange Theory Fitness have also inked deals to operate at El Paseo Square.

Saks Off Fifth will open late in 2016, Habit Burger Grill and Blaze Pizza are expected to open this summer, and Orange Theory Fitness should open before June, says Carmichael.

Carmichael says the Saks Fifth Avenue outlet, Saks Off Fifth, is a natural for the location, less than a block from the actual Saks store. “It will be a great outlet for clearance merchandise, and should be great for both stores,” Carmichael explains.

In addition to the five confirmed stores for the El Paseo Square property, Maggie Montez of commercial real estate company Lee & Associates also confirmed Pandora will replace the former Cold Nose Warm Heart on El Paseo next to New Balance. The jewelry company currently has nearly 2,400 locations across the country, but the Palm Desert location will be its first standalone store in the Coachella Valley.
