Weather team tracks impact of El Nio storms

The California drought continues, even with several El Nio-driven storms already hitting the state this winter season. It’s predicted that the storms will continue through late spring, but it’s still too early to tell if the storms will have a dramatic impact on California’s water crisis.

But, El Nio storms also come with their own set of problems. Are you prepared when these storms hit?

Our First Alert Weather Team wants to make sure you’re ready for potential storms. Our team will also check in to see just how much El Nio rainfall has helped with the drought. How much more snow and rain do we need to get out of trouble?

On Tuesday, join Meteorologist Jerry Steffen at 5:00 p.m. as he uncovers some useful tips for homeowners to make sure they are prepared in case the flood waters start rising towards your front door.

Then on CBS Local 2 at 5:30 p.m. Chief Meteorologist Patrick Evans takes a look at roadways across the valley — what have cities done to prepare and what is still needed to make sure you can get where you are going when dangerous storms strike.
