Police make an arrest in Monday night’s Cathedral City shooting

Wednesday Update: Cathedral City Police say they have arrested a man they believe shot another man near Ramon Road Monday night. Cathedral City Police say that around 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, they served search and arrest warrants at a home on the 31-700 block of Avenida El Mundo in Cathedral City regarding the shooting.

Detectives arrested 27-year old Edgar Moreno of Cathedral City and say he allegedly shot the victim. He was booked in the the Riverside County Jail in Banning

Cathedral City police are investigating after a 47-year-old man was shot two times Monday night near Ramon Road and Landau Boulevard. The shooting happened at about 10:15 p.m., and it occurred in the same area as two recent shootings.

Police ask for more cooperation from the public to solve murders

Officers said the victim is from Cathedral City and he was rushed to Desert Regional Medical Center with two gunshots to his lower body. He isn’t being identified at this time and authorities said he was treated and released from the hospital.

According to the release, the suspect fled the area before officers arrived and nobody else was injured in the shooting. Officers are following up on leads from the initial investigation and detectives are working to track down a suspect.
