Warm weekend for fair goers could bring big crowds

It’s the final weekend of the 70th annual Riverside County Fair and National Date Festival and it could get a little hot hanging out under the sun.

“Definitely have lots of water, wear sunscreen and hats, you know all the concession people have water for sale,” said Jeremy Niederman an EMT working at the fair.

Nothing attracts kids to the Riverside County Fair more than the thrilling carnival rides.

“It feels really weird when you go up, you feel the top and it just feels weird,” said 8-year-old Victoria Higuera who just got off the 1001 Knights carnival ride.

“My favorite ride was the 1001 Knights because when I put my hands on my stomach it started feeling all weird and it was fun,” said Alison Russell of Indio who was enjoying the fair with he family.

The fair run through Sunday, February 21 and hours are 10 a.m. to midnight on Saturday and Sunday.
