California Highway Patrol officer helps gaggle of baby geese safely cross road

Why did the goose cross the road? Possibly to get to its mother on the other side.

The Press Democrat reports that a few drivers called California Highway Patrol on Monday to report a gaggle of baby geese on the side of Highway 101. CHP officer Josh Phillips was patrolling the area and says the mother goose had made it safely across but five goslings were stranded on the other side. He thought they intended to walk into traffic to reach their mom.

Officer Jon Sloat says Phillips loaded the goslings into a bag and returned them to their mother, who was waiting near the new Sutter Hospital.
