Overnight construction closes eastbound I-10 freeway exit

UPDATE: 6:01 Eastbound Jefferson freeway exit is open again to traffic. No further delays.

An overnight freeway closure was forcing motorists to find another way if they planned on exiting at Jefferson Street in Indio early Thursday morning.

Eastbound freeway traffic was not being delayed, but the eastbound Interstate 10 freeway exit was closed at Jefferson Street.

Motorists could use Washington Street to the west or Monroe Street to the east to detour around the exit closure.

Crews were working along the eastbound ramp early Thursday morning.

No other delays were reported at the Jefferson Street Interchange construction project.

The overnight closure was expected to be completed by 6:00 a.m.
