Two suspects arrested for stealing man’s truck in DHS home invasion

Update: Two men were arrested Saturday for allegedly robbing a home and stealing the homeowner’s truck in Desert Hot Springs Friday.

Officers arrived at the 66100 block of Via Domingo Friday where the homeowners said two men entered their home and assaulted them. They took valuables and also stole the homeowners truck.

Police said 22-year-old Edward Inzunza allegedly left in the victim’s vehicle while 29-year-old Antonio Sanchez drove off in the red Toyota truck that they arrived in. A witness provided the license plate to the red pickup truck.

On Saturday, detectives from the Desert Hot Springs Police Department responded to Sanchez’s home in Perris and the sheriff’s department conducted a traffic stop on the red truck while Inzunza was driving. Officers found the victim’s property inside the vehicle.

Inzunza was detained and a search warrant was conducted at Sanchez’s home where he was arrested without incident.

The victim’s truck has not been found.

Sanchez and Inzunza were booked for multiple felony charges at the jail in Banning.

The Desert Hot Springs Police Department is investigating a home invasion that occurred just after 11 a.m. Friday in the 68000 block of Via Domingo, just east of Mountain View Road.

According to Commander Jim Henson, the man inside the home was injured and taken to the hospital. There was no word on the extent of his injuries.

Police said the suspects stole the victim’s black Chevy Colorado pickup truck and left the scene. There is no word on their descriptions at this time.
