Firefighters contain blaze that shut down off-ramp of 86 Expressway

Update 4:00 p.m. Fire has been contained. Mop up may take several hours.

Cal Fire is on scene of a brush fire in the area of Dillon Road and The 86 Expressway in Coachella. The fire was called out just before 3:00 p.m.

We have a crew on scene who states that the fire has shut down the off ramp and is rapidly spreading.
