Check out 4th of July events planned for Coachella Valley
There’s plenty of fun to be had this Fourth of July holiday in the Coachella Valley. While personal fireworks are illegal to possess in Palm Springs once again this year, there are plenty of city-planned fireworks display for you to enjoy with your family and friends.
Fireworks are also illegal to possess in any unincorporated area of San Bernardino County. Officials sent out an alert to show people which cities were permitted to use Safe and Sane fireworks this year.
Palm Springs 4th of July events:
‘All American Fourth of July‘, Pool Party and Palm Springs Power baseball game on July 4th.
Keep cool in the pool at Palm Springs Swim Center, located at 405 S. Pavilion Way. The pool party, beginning at 2 p.m., will feature music, games and a large inflatable slide. The pool party continues through the fireworks show is over. It costs $2 for children and $6 for adults. Parking for the pool party will be located in the parking lot off Ramon Road.
If you don’t feel like swimming, you can head over to Sunrise Park for a picnic before going to Palm Springs Stadium, at 1901 E. Baristo Road, to watch the Palm Springs Power take on Southern Nevada at 6:05 p.m.
The All American Fourth of July fireworks show will follow the baseball game at 9:15 p.m. Free admission for the fireworks show begins at 8 p.m. City officials said everyone is invited to bring blankets and lawn chairs to sit on the baseball field.
Palm Springs Aerial Tramway will open early on July 4. The first tram car up that day will be 8 a.m., the last tram car up will be 8 p.m. and the last tram car down will be 9:45 p.m.

City officials also said the AIDS Assistance Program is hosting a fundraising event at the Historic O’Donnell house in Palm Springs where attendees will celebrate the holiday by watching the City of Palm Springs fireworks and enjoy delicious hor d’oeuvres. Palm Desert Fourth of July events at Civic Center Park, 73510 Fred Waring Drive, July 4
Palm Desert will throw a party to celebrate 240 years of freedom on Monday, July 4, with free Independence Day festivities featuring fireworks, live music and more at Civic Center Park. The fun begins at 7:30 p.m. With a presentation of our nation’s flag by a United States Marine Corps color guard, followed by a concert featuring the Swing Cats Big Band.
After the concert, fireworks will light up the nighttime sky at 9 p.m. for a 20-minute fireworks display synchronized to contemporary and classic patriotic-themed songs simulcast on radio stations The Mix 100.5FM and 93.7 KCLB.
Residents of Indian Wells and Rancho Mirage are welcome to attend. Both cities are providing financial contributions to help pay for this year’s celebration, according to Palm Desert city official David Hermann.
You can purchase food and beverages from a variety of food vendors at the event. You’re encouraged to bring picnic dinners, blankets and chairs to enjoy the fireworks show. Alcohol, smoking and barbecues are prohibited. Golf carts are also prohibited in the park during the festivities to protect public safety during the busy event.
Free air-conditioned shuttle service will be provided between The Gardens on El Paseo and the park, from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m., Hermann said in a release.
