Cathedral City man arrested for alleged road rage attack
The Palm Springs Police Department recently arrested a Cathedral City man accused of assault with a deadly weapon in connection to an alleged road rage incident that occurred on June 30.
Harvey Seno Lozada, 48, is accused of striking the victim in the head with a long metal object after following the vehicle into a parking lot in the 2100 block of E Tahquitz Canyon Drive at about 10 a.m. that day.
According to police, the incident began when Lozada’s BMW coupe pulled in front of the victim’s vehicle and both drivers began swerving around each other. As the victim pulled into the parking lot, the suspect pulled in and exited his BMW with a long metal object in his hand.
Officers said the suspect yelled and struck the victim in the head with the metal object, which ended up knocking the victim out cold. The suspect was seen calmly walking back to his car and driving away.
Detectives said they were able to identify the suspect from a cell phone that was left at the scene and photographs discovered during the investigation of the vehicle.
Authorities arrested Lozada the morning of July 7 after serving a search warrant at his home at 7 a.m.
Lozada was booked into the Larry D. Smith Correctional Facility in Banning on charges of aggravated mayhem and assault with a deadly weapon. He’s being held on no bail and is due at the Larson Justice Center in Indio on Wednesday.
