Man accused of raping woman near Thousand Palms
A 32-year-old man has been arrested on charges of raping a woman in an unincorporated area of Thousand Palms on July 13. Deputies with the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department responded to the sexual assault in the 72000 block of Dunham Way at about 4 a.m.
Charles Love, age 32 of Thousand Palms, was arrested five days later when the sheriff’s department was able to identify him as a potential suspect in the case, according to a news release.

Love was arrested for an active parole violation warrant, and was then interviewed regarding the sexual assault. After an extensive investigation, authorities said they were able to add the charges of rape and inflicting great bodily injury during a sexual offense. Love was booked into the Riverside County Jail in Indio for his parole violation warrant and is being held on no bail.
He is due in court on August 11.
