CCPD investigates shooting in Dream Homes area
The Cathedral City Police Department is investigating after a man was shot Thursday afternoon in the Dream Homes area.
The victim was taken to Desert Regional Medical Center with unknown injuries after officers found him on a lawn suffering from a gunshot wound to the torso.
Officers said it didn’t appear that the man was shot very many times, and witnesses said they heard two to four shots fired. Police are searching for the suspect, but they didn’t have any initial information regarding a description.
Lt. Glenn Haas said the shooting happened at about 4:15 p.m on Asistencia Drive near San Luis Rey.
Haas said officers are interviewing witnesses but it appears the shooting may have stemmed from an argument between two people.
The shooting does not appear to be related to another shooting on Whispering Palms Trail last Thursday.
