Dozens gather to protest Patricia Brown verdict

Dozens of friends and family members of Patricia Brown were protesting outside of the Larson Justice Center in Indio.

This comes after the guilty verdict was announced Thursday.

Brown was charged with murder against her stepson, Deetrick Brown.

People said they gathered to stand for Brown, and have hopes to appeal the verdict.

“My family and friends thought it was appropriate,” Derrick Brown, Patricia’s husband said. “I’m here supporting them, {and} to support my wife.”

Brown said he has lawyers and city officials coming in to stand for his wife, and appeal her sentence.
