Officers said one person had to be cut from their car and sustained moderate injuries in the crash. That person was taken to the hospital.
The collision occurred at 6:36 a.m., according to Sgt. Dan Marshall with the Indio Police Department.
In some pictures sent to us from KESQ and CBS Local 2 Engineer, Luis Lua, we can see a pickup truck and car were involved. Officers said traffic was clearing up just after 9 a.m.
Alcohol and drugs were not a factor in the crash, but officers said distracted driving may have been a possible factor. The official cause of the crash is under investigation.
