Traffic cleared in Indio after 2-car crash

Indio police were handling a crash investigation involving two cars at Jefferson Street and Indio Boulevard Tuesday morning.

Officers said one person had to be cut from their car and sustained moderate injuries in the crash. That person was taken to the hospital.

The collision occurred at 6:36 a.m., according to Sgt. Dan Marshall with the Indio Police Department.

In some pictures sent to us from KESQ and CBS Local 2 Engineer, Luis Lua, we can see a pickup truck and car were involved. Officers said traffic was clearing up just after 9 a.m.

Alcohol and drugs were not a factor in the crash, but officers said distracted driving may have been a possible factor. The official cause of the crash is under investigation.

All roads are back open in the area.
