Omni Rancho Las Palmas eases your political pains with presidential cocktails

No matter who you’re voting for this election there’s one thing pretty much everyone can agree on, you’re going to need a drink, or a few, to make it to Nov. 8. That’s where the Omni Rancho Las Palmas comes in.

“On a weekly basis we have seven different drinks. We offer three Republican, three Democrat and one swing vote or one independent,” said Joey Scott, general manager of Blu Ember and R Bar.

Scott showed us how to make the vice presidential picks for the Democratic and Republican cocktails. On the Democratic side, there’s the Sugar Kaine Smash. It’s a strong-yet-subtle twist on a classic mojito. On the Republican side, there’s The Ruby Red Pence. It’s a grapefruit-flavored vodka cocktail.

There’s also the Hilla-rita, which is a twist on your classic margarita and the Trump-Tini, which is a sweet-and-sour vodka concoction.

It wouldn’t be a truly democratic process if patrons couldn’t vote for their favorite drink. Anytime someone orders a drink they’re casting their ballot for that drink and that gets added into the company’s database that tallies the votes. The current breakdown shows Republicans have the lead with 42 percent of the vote. Democrats are at 38 percent and 20 percent went to the wildcard POTUS punch.

There’s still time to cast your ballot to determine which cocktail comes out on top.
