Inland Empire gas price rises for sixth consecutive day

The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in the Inland Empire rose Thursday for the sixth consecutive day, increasing nine-tenths of a cent to $2.82.

The average price in Riverside and San Bernardino counties has risen 6 cents over the past six days, including 1.2 cents on Wednesday, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service.

The average price is 5.7 cents more than one week ago and 5.9 cents higher than one month ago, but 4.8 cents less than one year ago.

The average price dropped three consecutive days before the current run of rising prices began, with the decreases totaling 1.2 cents.
