Gas leak at a Rancho Mirage Country Club

The Southern California Gas Company has restored service after a gas line was punctured at the Springs Country Club in Rancho Mirage.

Fire fighters responded to a call at 10:17 a.m. Wednesday of a ruptured gas line on the 10 block of Princeton Drive in Rancho Mirage.

The Southern California Gas Company was able to shut off the gas at 11:00 a.m.

Once fire fighters arrived on scene, residents in two nearby homes were evacuated.

A spokesperson for the Southern California Gas Company say the gas leak was caused by a third party digging in the area.

SoCalGas reminds residents and business owners to “call 811 before you dig” in a yard or at a construction site.
