Desert Hot Springs man found safe

Officers with the Desert Hot Springs Police Department said the man reported missing Thursday afternoon in Desert Hot Springs has been found safe.

Leslie Locke, 81, was reported missing after he was last seen at about 2:15 p.m. Thursday when he left his home in Desert Hot Springs to visit family in Dana Point. Sgt. Larry Essex with DHSPD said Locke ended up making it safely to his destination on Friday and the Silver Alert was canceled.

Sgt. Essex said they didn’t have information as to what caused the delay in Locke making it to Dana Point.

The California Highway Patrol issued a ‘Silver Alert’ on behalf of the Desert Hot Springs Police Department after Locke’s family reported the delay on Thursday.
