Man hit and killed in Mecca Saturday

One person is dead after being struck by a vehicle in Mecca Saturday night.

According to CAL FIRE, it happened around 6:25 near the intersection of Highway 111 and Avenue 66. The pedestrian died at the scene.

The California Highway Patrol would only identify the victim as an adult male to CBS told CBS Local 2 and KESQ News Channel 3. CHP is handling the investigation.

No other details were immediately available.
