Brandini Toffee ramps up production for holiday rush

One local business is ramping up production in anticipation of the onslaught of holiday rush orders. Brandini Toffee is having its factory in Rancho Mirage produce toffee and toffee popcorn for 20 hours straight each day over the next month. Workers will be working nearly around the clock in shifts helping fill orders.

The business’s co-founder, Brandon Weimer, said the expanded production will help meet the holiday demand from retailers. This part of the year is an especially important time for his business.

“The holidays are everything for us,” he said. “We do almost half of our business during these next few weeks so for the month of December, it gets crazy.”

Weimer said for the holiday season, his business was able to hire about 40 seasonal workers to help meet the demand and the 20-hour production cycle.

“We’re very seasonal,” he said. “This is the holiday season. We wrap up heavily and our employees, 70 people between retail and production and everything in between.”

This is also the year Weimer is celebrating Brandini Toffee’s 10-year anniversary. He said the business has come a long way from being a way to raise money for a class trip to Italy to being featured on a national scale on the Home Shopping Network.

“It’s surreal to say that were on that big of a platform,” he said. “It’s national which for us is a dream come true.”

The 20-hour production days at the factory will continue all the way until Christmas Eve. Weimer said the business is still looking to hire more seasonal workers. Anyone interested is encouraged to contact Brandini Toffee here.

Toffee is also available at shops in Rancho Mirage, Palm Springs, and in Cabazon at the Desert Hills Premium Outlets.
