Hundreds gather for Palm Springs Festival of Lights Parade

Hundreds were in the holiday spirit in Downtown Palm Springs Saturday night for the annual Festival of Lights Parade. Many lined the sides of Palm Canyon Drive for numerous floats decked out with all kinds of holiday lights and decorations. Visitors like Banning resident Diana Owens said people have been coming from all around the valley for the annual holiday tradition for 24 years. “The community coming out supporting,” Owens said. “I love Palm Springs. They have a parade for everything. It’s just like a tradition almost.” Coachella Valley resident and supermodel Beverly Johnson served as as this year’s celebrity grand marshal. The parade also had community grand marshals including boxer Timothy Bradley Jr., Palm Springs Police Chief Bryan Reyes and local realtor and philanthropist Nelda Linsk.
