$175K donated to 5 local charities by Agua Caliente Band of Cahuilla Indians

The Auga Caliente Band of Cahuilla Indians recently donated $175,000 to five charities that was generated from proceeds from the Tribe’s 7th annual Charity Golf Tournament at the Indian Canyons Golf Resort.

Tribe officials said the charities were each presented with $35,000 on December 2.

The following charities received donations:

The Boys & Girls Club of the Coachella Valley; Shelter from the Storm; USO- Palm Springs; Institute of American Indian Arts; Running Strong

Tribe officials said in 2015, the charity golf tournament recipients were: Desert Blind, James O. Jessie Desert Highland Unity Center, Notah Begay III Foundation, Running strong for American Indian Youth and the Variety-the Children’s Charity of the Desert.
