Security increased due to threatening graffiti at Mt. San Jacinto College

The Riverside County Sheriff’s Department has stepped up security at Mt. San Jacinto College after a campus safety officer alerted deputies to a message found to be threatening in nature written in a campus bathroom.

The San Jacinto Campus is located at 1499 S. State Street in San Jacinto.

The message was written in graffiti and deputies began inspecting it on Monday at about 9 p.m. when the safety officer made the discovery. Deputies determined the wording to be threatening and began working with the college as they conduct extra patrols on the college campuses.

Deputies didn’t elaborate on the threatening message but said the investigation is ongoing. The sheriff’s department is seeking anyone with information about the graffiti threat.
