Man arrested after robbing multiple cars near the Bump and Grind trail

A man accused in a string of car burglaries in Palm Desert over the past 2 months has been arrested.

Matthew Alan Ray, a 34-year-old Blythe resident was arrested Thursday night after a monthslong investigation.

The burglaries were reported during October and November near the Bump and Grind trailhead. The victims had parked their cars there before setting to hike the local trails.

Ray is being charged with multiple counts of vehicle burglary.
