Students donate candy to The Narrow Door in Indio

Third graders from Carrillo Ranch Elementary School in Indio dropped donations of candy packages to The Narrow Road food bank Thursday. About 110 students dropped off 2000 packages there.

The candy packages are meant to be stocking stuffers for the children of disadvantaged families that are visiting the faith based nonprofit’s Christmas Store. According to the founder of The Narrow Road, David Ramirez, this is the third year, students from the elementary school made candy packages.

One teacher said it was good that her students got an opportunity to understand the importance of giving to other at a young age.

The packages will be distributed when the Christmas Store opens on Monday.
