Slight decrease drops Inland Empire gas price to lowest amount since September 2nd

The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in the Inland Empire dropped one-tenth of a cent today to $2.67, its lowest amount since Sept. 2nd.

The average price in Riverside and San Bernardino counties has dropped eight of the past 10 days, decreasing 2.6 cents, including a half-cent Thursday, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service.

The average price is 2 cent less than one week ago, 10.9 cents lower than one month ago and eight-tenths of a cent below what it was one year ago.

“California gasoline inventories are reportedly so plentiful that refiners are getting ready to export fuel to locations that command higher prices,” said Jeffrey Spring, the Automobile Club of Southern California’s
corporate communications manager.

“Pump prices are currently moving downward slowly, however, so we don’t expect too much change before a record 7.7 million Southern Californians start heading to their end-of-year holiday destinations next week.”
