Power outage leads to school closure at Cielo Vista Charter School in Palm Springs

A spokesperson for the Palm Springs Unified School District said classes were canceled Friday at Cielo Vista Charter School because of a power outage.

Crews from So Cal Edison have informed the district a main power line supplying electricity to the school was not working.

Edison crews are working to repair the line, and we are told the repair should be completed by sometime Friday afternoon.

The school district says a call went out to parents before classes began to notify them about the campus closure.

But, “fewer than 25” students were still dropped off at the campus, and they were waiting for their parents to pick them up.
