DHS appoints permanent City Manager

Desert Hot Springs City Council selected Charles L. Maynard as the city’s permanent City Manager.

Maynard had been serving as the interim city manager for Desert Hot Springs the previous six months.

Maynard comes in to the job with 10 years experience as Assistant City Manager and 36 years in law enforcement including 13 years as the Chief of Police for Desert Hot Springs.

“Over the past six months, Mr. Maynard has proven to be a strong, trusted and dedicated leader, who works well with City Staff, the Community and the City Council,” said the Desert Hot Springs City Council in a press release. Maynard will be appointed as the permanent City Manager on December 23, 2016.

The City of Desert Hot Springs also selected Charles Rangel as Interim Community Development Director.
