Pedestrian identified in deadly Palm Springs collision
Roads were reopened early Wednesday morning in Palm springs after a deadly collision that left one person dead.
The pedestrian was identified by the Riverside County Coroner’s Office as a James Scott, 77, of Grand Terrace.
Police were called to Sunrise Way just south of Ramon last night at 7:10 p.m
The road way was blocked off until 2 a.m. as police investigated the scene.
Police said a motorist in a white Tesla SUV was driving southbound on Sunrise when their vehicle struck scott, who was walking across the street near the intersection of Camino Parocela.
The driver stopped, and a woman who witnessed the collision administered CPR to the badly-injured man.
Scott died at the scene.
The driver was cooperating with investigators.
