The Valley mourns the death of Debbie Reynolds

The Valley continues to mourn the death of former Palm Springs resident Debbie Reynolds

“We are very sad at the passing of such a wonderful person like Debbie Reynolds and our heartfelt thoughts go out to her family and friends.” said Bob Alexander, President of the Palm Springs Walk of Stars.

Debbie Reynolds received her star, number #174, on the Palm Springs Walk of Stars on January 4, 2000. The star is located at 155 South Palm Canyon Drive.

The Palm Springs International Film Festival released a statement on the passing of Debbie Reynolds on their Facebook page, “In 1999 the Palm Springs International Film Festival presented the Lifetime Achievement Award to Debbie Reynolds. No one was more deserving of this award. Debbie Reynolds was an energetic and versatile performer, a caring and gracious woman and she will be missed by her many admirers everywhere. Rest in Peace Debbie.”

A documentary on the life of Reynolds & Fisher is set to screen at the Palm Springs International Film Festival for three days: Wednesday January 11th at 7:15 p.m. at the Annenberg Theater, Thursday January 12th at Palm Springs High School, and Friday January 13th at the Palm Canyon Theatre. The director of the documentary, Fisher Stevens, will be in attendance at the Wednesday and Thursday screenings.

You can buy tickets for each screening at the ‘Bright Lights’ page on psfilmfest.org
