Shelter From The Storm changing housing locations

Local nonprofit Shelter From The Storm is changing the location of their housing facilities.

Shelter From The Storm works to protect and serve victims of domestic violence. They say their administrative office will stay in Palm Desert, but the new location for housing is more centrally located to public transportation and shopping centers.

The decision comes after a financial need to downsize and a hope to create a place that feels more like home for their clients.

“For victims of domestic violence, home is not safe. Home is not where they want to be at the end of the day,” says Angelina Coe, executive director, “We want to rebuild that idea for them.”

As you think about your end of year giving, Shelter From The Storm is looking for monetary, toy and furniture donations for the new home. Call (760) 674-0400 for more information on how you can donate or visit shelterfromthestorm.org.
