Woman suffers major injuries after crashing car into semi-truck

A woman is recovering at a local hospital after suffering serious injuries from crashing her car into a parked semi-truck and trailer in Palm Springs Sunday morning.

Palm Springs Police officers said it happened just before 9 a.m. in an area on North Indian Canyon Drive near Interstate 10.

Officers said the car was traveling South on North Indian Canyon Drive, when it crashed into the back of the semi-truck and trailer. No one was inside the semi-truck at the time of the crash.

Officers said Palm Springs Fire crews had to help the woman out after being trapped inside the car. She was the only one inside the car.

After suffering serious injuries, crews took her to a local hospital for treatment.

Officers said the crash is still under investigation.
