Golf cart pulled from pond after man crashes in Palm Desert

Cal Fire responded to a golf cart crash inside the Monterey Country Club in Palm Desert Thursday afternoon. The country club is located at 41500 Monterey Avenue.

Authorities told KESQ and CBS Local 2 that a man suffered from a medical emergency at about 12 p.m., which caused him to crash the golf cart. Another man at the scene jumped into the pond to rescue to golf cart driver.

The man who crashed the cart was taken to the hospital. The extent of his injuries isn’t clear at this time, but he is receiving treatment.

Crews arrived with equipment to pull the golf cart out of the pond at about 12:30 p.m.
