Trina Turk showcases spring collection in Modernism Week fashion show

It was a Trina Turk take over at the Christopher Kennedy Compound Tuesday afternoon. The world famous designer showcased her Spring 2017 collection.

“We love the color in this house and of course a blue swimming pool is a great backdrop for a Trina and Mr. Turk fashion show,” Turk said.

The Turk’s recent trip to Havana inspiring the collection.

“Our collection is called Haute Havana. We saw a lot of color, a lot of pattern, a lot of really cool midcentury architecture when we visited Havana,” Turk said.

The designer was gushing over this year’s show house.

“I love the patio. I love the indoor, outdoor thing about Palm Springs and I really love those lime yellow chairs wrapped in cord. That’s my favorite thing,” Turk said.

Christopher Kennedy welcoming a full house of fashion fanatics, he said he never expected his compound to get this big.

“I think it really shows the best of Palm Springs and my idea with the compound is to show the best of Palm Springs to the world. And this event is definitely doing that,” Kennedy said.

Guests enjoying an up close and personal look at the models.

“She’s got such a great eye for color and print fashion. It’s happy clothing, for happy people. Like us out here in Palm Springs,” said M.B. Robbins who is visiting from New York.

Tuesday’s fashion show just another example of how Modernism Week continues to grow year after year.
