PSPD investigates stabbing on Sunrise Way

The Palm Springs Police Department is searching for a suspect wanted in connection to a stabbing that occurred Wednesday morning in the 1700 block of E. Vista Chino.

According to Sgt. Larsen, officers received a call at about 10:30 a.m. that one person had been stabbed.

Officers said the preliminary information suggested that two transients were in a dirt lot in the area when an argument occurred over money. During the argument, the suspect pulled an object officers believe was a knife and stabbed the victim.

The victim was taken to a hospital and is expected to survive.

The suspect ran from the scene before officers arrived. The search for the suspect continues and officers said they’re working a few active leads. If you witnesses the stabbing, you’re asked to call police at 760-327-1441 or report information anonymously to Valley Crime Stoppers at 760-341-7867.
