One person shot in armed robbery in Cathedral City

One person was shot at a Circle K in Cathedral City during an armed robbery, CCPD confirmed.

CCPD received several 911 calls at 8:10 p.m. about an armed robbery at the Circle K on Ramon Road in Cathedral City.

According to a CCPD release, during the robbery, the male fired at least one round from a handgun at the store clerk and demanded the store clerk open a cash register(s). The clerk – who was injured – cooperated and the suspect took an unknown amount of money and fled from the store on foot. The clerk was taken to a local hospital, his injuries and condition is unknown at this time.

Police at the scene said the injuries were non-life threatening.

CCPD interviewed the store clerk and other witnesses but were unable to gather more than a limited description of the suspect. Police could only gather that it was a male wearing dark clothing.
