Slight increase pushes Inland Empire gas price to highest amount since January 11th

The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in the Inland Empire rose two-tenths of a cent today to $3.004, its highest amount since Jan. 11, 2016.

The average price in Riverside and San Bernardino counties has risen 37 of the past 38 days, increasing 20.4 cents, including four-tenths of a cent on Thursday, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service.

The average price is 1.3 cents more than one week ago, 13.6 cents higher than one month ago and 47.7 cents greater than one year ago.

“California and Hawaii are now the only two states with an average price at or above $3 a gallon,” said Jeffrey Spring, the Automobile Club of Southern California’s corporate communications manager. “However, wholesale
fuel prices have moved very little in over a week, indicating the supply situation in Southern California is stable enough not to drive prices higher, but still tight enough to prevent a decline.”
