Cold case continues for suspect who murdered man in front of daughter

Police continue to search for a suspect that murdered a man in front of his seven-year-old daughter over six years ago. The cold case if resurfacing once again as the Whittier Police Department recently released a composite sketch of the suspect in hopes of finally bringing the man to justice.

Authorities were called to the homicide on February 26, 2011 at 8:43 p.m. It happened at the Crestwood Apartments, located at 8930 Painter Avenue in the city of Whittier.

According to authorities, when officers arrived they found Juan Gabriel Ramirez Mendez deceased at the residence. In the ongoing investigation into his murder, a composite sketch has been released with the help of eye witnesses.

Officers said the suspect is described as a fair-skinned man, about 5’10” and 170-180 pounds.
